That's a weird problem.  So your game actually starts, the display is OK? and you can actually play but only until turn 4?   Which campaigns specifically, and what exactly happens that leads to the crash?  And did you install Armory e-roster 4.71 first?

I run the game in Win7 too but I don't have this problem, but then again I didn't install the game under Win7 either -I copied already installed game files over from an XP machine. If you have that option I'd recommend it. 

 BTW, if you downloaded the game from the Armory or 5-star or Underdogs etc. chances are high that it is already pre-paptched to 1.1.  Rerunning the patch could cause a problem....
